We've made a number of updates to Makro. Whether you're a long-time user or just getting started, here's what's new in this release.

Enhanced AI Capabilities

Makro's AI-powered features got an update. Smart Rewrite and Smart Translate now handle rephrasing, shortening, formalizing, or softening text with more accuracy. You can also use local AI providers like Ollama and LM Studio, which means zero credit usage and added privacy.

Smarter Text Expansion

We've refined the core text expansion engine for smoother, more reliable hotword triggering. Macros now expand where and when you expect them to, across your applications and text fields.

Cross-Browser Sync Improvements

Syncing your macros across devices is more reliable now. Whether you use Makro on Chrome or Firefox, your snippets, settings, and preferences stay synchronized across both.

User Experience Refinements

We've made several quality-of-life improvements based on user feedback: a more intuitive settings interface and quicker access to your most-used macros via keyboard shortcuts.
